Headliner: Bernice Ye

Bernice Ye, often referred to as the "Jackie Chan of Comedy," is a multifaceted comedian, rapper, actor, and martial artist. Born and raised in China, she moved to the U.S. in 2004 with just $1,000. After a successful tech career at companies like Microsoft and Hulu, she fully committed to stand-up comedy in 2021.

Her comedy has garnered over 80 million views on social media, and she's performed at festivals like New York Comedy Festival, GeekFest West Expo, “Best of The Fest” at Burbank Comedy Festival and San Diego Comedy Festival. As a musical comedian, her original comedy raps have been streamed in over 68 countries. In 2024, she performed a string of sold-out shows in Singapore, further cementing her international appeal. After concluding his European summer 2025 stand-up tour, The Function welcomes international touring comedian Scott Capurro to headline SF's only black-owned comedy club for just the second time ever.

Headliner: SCOTT CAPURRO
Scott Capurro has performed at almost every comedy club in the English speaking world including the Punch Line (SF), The Comedy Store (London, UK), Comic Strip (NYC) and countless others. As an actor he appeared in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and the classic Robin Williams film, Mrs. Doubtfire. Constantly in demand in England and the U.S., he's appeared on BBC, ITV, CBS, NBC, Fox, NPR as well as having toured his one-man show in the U.K., the U.S. and Australia (Melbourne Comedy Festival), and winning the prestigious "Perrier Comedy Award" at the acclaimed Edinburgh Festival.

Things to Know

• Like most comedy clubs there is a 2 drink minimum to help support the bar & wait staff. We have a full bar, but non-alcoholic beverages and mocktails do count towards your minimum
• The show is partially seated - arrive early!
• To help keep show disruptions to a minimum, guests will not be sat 15 minutes after showtime
• Although all sales are final, we want to be as flexible as possible. If you can no longer make it to the show, just notify us least least 24 hours in advance of the start of the show and, in most cases, we can give you a credit towards tickets to a future date.

SCOTT CAPURRO

Scott Capurro is a fearless and provocative comedian, actor, and writer whose sharp wit and unfiltered humor have made him a standout in the comedy world. A San Francisco native, Scott gained international acclaim after winning the prestigious Perrier Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His boundary-pushing material has earned him appearances on major television networks, including BBC, Channel 5, Fox News, and GB News.

Scott has written for top publications like The Guardian, The Times, and The Scotsman, and his novel Fowl Play received critical praise. As a live performer, he’s a regular at premier comedy clubs across the English-speaking world, including The Punchline (San Francisco), The Comedy Store (London), The Comic Strip (New York City), and Yuk Yuk’s (Toronto).
